So I'm on the eve of a nice promotion and suddenly one of our suppliers cannot provide a set for an event tomorrow. The client is upset and we need to appease them. Que myself who has been asked to go in for 7am tomorrow to arrange some fancy lighting to make it up to them.

Lol! I have a friend who went from practical to production manager, he's actually an always on call worker now who has to pick up the slack and does exactly what you just mentioned. It wouldn't happen like that if he went straight into production management and he knows it.
