Magic leap is a scam

Why do you say that? About once a month I get to try beta or even alpha versions and am impressed. Very sharp crisp graphics. Every VR headset I have tried has a very VERY Limited field of view and Magic Leap is NO exception.
They currently use a Nvidia ARM chip designed for Cars and the betas I try have a patched in "Q" Arm instead. "Q" also poured in a mass of money to this venture and now AT&T is on board. Company has serious Billions poured in so the product should end up more better than before. This venture will not put cold hard cash into my wallet currently - Still I was impressed and I have compared it to every frigging attempt at VR.
Why call it a scam? As with any new invention it takes tyme to improve a product/idea/venture/

Trust me. I spent my entire childhood staring at books and computer monitors ~2-3 feet away from my face and now I'm nearsighted as fuck and anything beyond like 10 feet is a blurry mess.
Play sports outside with your friends and don't start reading until your eyes finish developing. Thanks.

But if that is true (seems likely to be true)... and we correct vision by putting a solid object directly in front of your eyes... wouldnt that just make it worse???

Yeah. That's why I don't wear glasses. I don't want to fuck it up even more.

What shocks me is the retrograde of technology. Back wayyyyyy back as kiddlet the first Black and White TV's had a small screen - 7 Inches or so- People put giant Magnifying glass in front to get a distorted picture given the 7 Inch image was not so much so good to begin with.
Now people are watching video on Smart phones and Tablets wayyyyy smaller than the 7 inches.

Ehh, anything over 100 degrees FOV seems to work adequately in my experience. I have tried several of the current generation of VR HMDs and most devices above 100 degrees FOV are pretty much fully immersive from a visual perspective.

because you see *through* the glass, your eyes don't focus *on* the lenses
My eyes are shitty and they only stopped getting worse when I got glasses
