God had a wacky sense of humor back in the Bronze Age. He was always showing up talking about ghosts and giving cooking tips to the ancient Israelites. God had a feud going with Syntax back then too, but that part was cut out of the Old Testament later by a mysterious advisor to the ancient scribes.

DYK that God was originally called El and was part of a pantheon of gods, and altars to those gods were placed on the top of mountains, the old testament calls them High Places and a lot of those gods were recast as demons for example Baal.
