Topic: McDonald's is getting stingy with the barbecue sauce again

Anonymous A started this discussion 7 years ago #83,655

You have to ask them to get the same amount as before. It's clearly a policy change and very upsetting.

Maybe they were just running low today and trying to ration it out until the truck arrived?

@OP

Why do you need excessive amounts of sauce?
They would have to raise their prices if they had to hand out 10 things of sauce for every six mcnuggets. How about trying not to take advantage of the situation and be happy with one sauce like everyone else is, fancy pants?

It's not excessive to want 1 packet of sauce for every 5 nuggets. They've been trying to reduce that to 1 packet per 10, which is crazy.

Sauce he buys at the damn grocery store!

So this has definitely been occurring over time? I wasn't aware that you had been keeping track of the sauce/nugget ratio per order. Have you considered confounding variables like order size, time of day, location, drive-thru vs. counter, or new staff members?

McDonald's barbecue sauce is squeezed fresh daily, from rats.

Grocery store sauce doesn’t taste the same as the sauce you get at McDonald’s and they don’t sell that in retail.

I do not invest in restaurants however why fear free sauce from MC'Ds when Just Yesterday
"The firm had revenue of $5.16 billion for the quarter, compared to analyst estimates of $5.16 billion" That is over $20 Billion estimated at year end and AND "The company has a market capitalization of $140.13 billion, a PE ratio of 22.63, a PEG ratio of 2.50 and a beta of 0.59. Mcdonald’s has a 1 year low of $146.84 and a 1 year high of $190.88.

And stock anyone owns they get a gift of $4.64 Per Share by Year End - Clearly a few extra packets of sauce is not about to bankrupt them

So McDonalds should be paying waaaaay more in taxes to benefit programs for the disadvantaged people who have collected food stamps for ten years and dont work and collect thousands from the government every year in tax credits for their five kids...is that what you're saying..

Anonymous L replied with this 7 years ago, 3 minutes later, 21 hours after the original post[^] [v] #962,698

I never said such. Now should they pay more in taxes? Of course. They got a big break with Trumps tax plan. The middle and lower classes who pay taxes lol - Just wait till this new election cycle where people are going to be asked "What's in your Wallet" and they will look and say er hey how come my bank account is even a little smaller than b4 Trump and the corporations are doing better.

What gives with that. This will be fun because someone is going to say fake news except those who look in their wallets - Me? I got a very nice Tax break which I did not need lol

> Yes, this has been at 4 different McDonald's over the last month! Different times of day, etc. Something is up.

Well it's admirable you are being thorough when exploring this issue. Wide sampling and trying to isolate variables is really the first step to forming a clear picture of the phenomenon. I was surprised to find there is a lot of discussion on the web about McDonald's sauce policy. Most of it is a few years out of date, and I wouldn't be surprised if McDonald's has regional policy guidelines based on preferences in certain areas. Maybe you can to try reach a regional level public-facing employee to try to get a straight answer out of them about the sauce issue.

Do not forget that franchisees can, and often do, modify guidelines to suit their needs and save them money.
