That brings up the question of how fun were they really. I don't ever remember pillow fights being the cutting edge of excitement, how much more fun than a pillow fight were they?

they were more fun. you could do it outside and it was like punches but it didn't hurt
it was disappointing when they inevitably popped but they were fun at parties

I used to have pillow fights with my friends. We would mash the pillows down into one end so you could swing them with a good amount of force. It usually stung for a while or knocked the wind out of you if someone got you with a good hit. This doesn't look like an improvement. Wouldn't those things pop if you hit something with any amount of force?

I don't recall anyone's ego getting bruised. We mostly just got bruises from running into the furniture while dodging or chasing each other.
