I think if you want to be good at things then you have to make time to do that outside of school or find schools that specialize in making people good at the thing you want to do. Schools, by and large, just try to make sure you aren't terrible at everything.

Teach kids how to read, then just make them read Wikipedia for 8 hours a day (whatever they want on Wikipedia) till they get good at something.

for ordinary school, they mostly try to make you able to have competence at reading, writing, and calculating, and beyond that they mostly waste your time with reading and writing more shit, and mathematics turns into partly procedures for some stuff and partly IQ test puzzles that you figure out or you don't figure out

and some of these fuckers come out of school and they suck at even the basic competences that should have been acquired by around age of 12
