Just keep in mind that America's own "Brexit" (and we really did exit Britain!) in 1776 involved completely breaking off relations with the world's largest trading bloc/common market at that time. It wasn't even a "no deal" Brexit, we told King George III to get fucked and killed a bunch of redcoats. And it was the best thing that ever happened to America. We even patched things up with Britain and became BFFs after 1812.
Of course all the Britons with ambition became Americans a long time ago so it's been bred out of the gene pool there so maybe it is hopeless and you're doomed to go back to worshipping Stonehenge and living in the dark ages if you don't prostrate yourselves before Angela Merkel.
