In the perfect society, it's all so very great that it's in everyone's best interests to maintain it dutifully. Many people don't believe in duty anymore though, it's about being your own man with some people. You can't really be your own man in a society that gave you everything and is that necessarily a bad thing? Maybe ilwe take better care of ourselves when it's not just us we have to answer to.
