Topic: Capacity for violence vs strength

Anonymous A started this discussion 7 years ago #82,871

A man might be physically stronger than his wife and abuse her, but sometimes a wife is batshit crazy and lights the bed on fire with him in it. This is what I don't get about the military, at one part they toughen the recruots up and that makes them better at violence but is there not also training for a mind that isn't used to violence at all?

Autistic craziness is a stretch. I mean maybe I'm just socially awkward, i ask questions that you shouldn't really ask because it's not a conversation piece.

Yes there is also training for that, the army breaks you and remakes you into the soldier.

But how? Is it like in that movie where the guy is like "it's too violent sir" and the general says "it's not violence, it's a order!

It's the discipline and the training, you're taught to follow your training instinctively.
