They must feel pretty silly and relieved after that sound (which they thought was from a Cuban secret sonic weapon) turned out to be crickets.

Maybe their sickness is just strain from paranoia.

You know what some blame it on? Conversion disorder. It's not a new mental illness, it's not a new word, it's just newly being used more these days. It used to be that people got diagnosed as hysterical but it fell out of fashion and then it got wrongfully lunked with sexism. Now it's back under a new name, conversion disorder.
