I had a guy say this shit to me at KFC when standing in line for a famous bowl.
"Excuse me, bossman," he said to me as he made his way past the line to the exit of the building.
It also seems to be common slang among black people.

I agree and even when as a Supervisor when someone addressed me with that term I really disliked it. Most of all was when out n about and ran in2 an employee who introduced me to their spouse or GF and used that term, that was most disagreeable
