This is very true. Reminds me of the white settlers who, even with their old technology, were thought to be gods. With the gadget someone today has, convincing some uncontacted tribe you were a god would be easy.

An alien, or other powerful being, would have technology that would appear completely god-like.

there are plenty of religions that dont believe in a god and going to either heaven hell or just nowhere
i know quite a few people that without their religion they would just be a mess in life
