Topic: Jesus Christ... medical codes are confusing as fuck.

Okay, so I have accepted letters from my IPA for referrals with two fucking diagnosis letters. The older ones with diagnosis code F64.1 which reads as "Dual Role Transvestitism" whatever the fuck that is and then was later changed to F64.0 "Transsexualism."
I looked up the codes online and it still confuses the fuck out of me.

i think that just means they thought you were just a fetishist but then started taking you seriously

It wouldn't surprise me since the old doctor had some weird response upon reading the diagnosis.
It makes me wonder why the doctor left the clinic and they had to find a new one that is serious about this kind of diagnosis.
I know that doctor has another trans patient since he told me about them when telling me that I could wear two patches.
Now I feel intrigued about why they left in July 2018.
I thought of fetishist since I read "Transvestitism" since isn't that what the old term meant? However, that code database confuses me.

Dual-role transvestism is the formal diagnosis used by psychologists and physicians to describe people who wear clothes of the opposite sex to experience being the opposite sex temporarily, but don't have a sexual motive or want gender reassignment surgery. The International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) list three diagnostic criteria for "Dual-role transvestism" (F64.1).[1][not in citation given]
A person who is diagnosed with dual-role transvestism should not receive a diagnosis of transvestic fetishism (F65.1)
After reading this ..What happens if one dresses up from shoes to navel as Female and from Navel to Noggin as Male. Or vice a versa..

I always thought the official medical diagnosis was "Gender Dysphoria" which is what it says on my diagnosis letter from my therapist. So not sure how the fuck my old endo came up to dual role transvestitism.

I want to get this shit taken care of so I could switch my IPA to my insurance provider so I could just get a referral to the Transgender Health & Wellness Center.
I'm tired of this back-and-forth doctor shit. I'm willing to bet there is no such thing as a perfect healthcare system. I pray to God this shit doesn't happen for people with more serious health conditions. The people who worked under my previous endocrinologist said it did, but I now question if they were fucking lying.
I'm getting the impression that something happened between him and that other transgender patient that he had. Near the end of his time at the clinic, he suddenly got more talkative and friendlier with me when previously he didn't talk at all and felt reluctant to engage.

Agree. My guess is that when one goes to the Doc that specializes in gender bending and comes in dressed and acting as the gender they were born with - will probably not be looked at without skepticism.

I suspect that as well. The new endocrinologist there didn't seem to have such suspicions and is more engaging with me. Like the clinic started getting an influx in transgender patients and they needed someone with a lot more knowledge about this specific diagnosis.

I called the billing department and they gave me authorization codes for both appointments that I am being billed for. I shouldn’t be receiving these bills since I had approved referrals. Quit playing games with my heart.

Have you considered dressing up in drag. Get costume stuff from Salvation Army & other thrift stores. Consult RuPaul.

Damn, my insurance company is awaiting my medical group to call them back as well.
Fuck this shit, I'm going to switch medical groups.
