Some are more scary than others. Realizing that they are the reproductive strategy of an altogether different kind of organism usually makes me feel a strange sense of unease. I get a real alien facehugger vibe if I think too hard about it.

It's not like I have a phobia or anything. I just find that thinking too much about the details of why flowers happen interferes with my appreciation of them. Sort of like honey is great if I don't think of it as bee vomit. Some orchids have a really nice color scheme going and can be very elaborate. But still kind of creepy thinking about how the orchid isn't doing that for any reason humans should be concerned with.
