It turns out that there is some variation is what fingernails even look like, nevermind the clipping that people do to them. Regardless of clipping, some people's fingernails are very stubby looking, as if your body barely though it was necessary for you to even have fingernails. Some people's fingernails lack a plumpness, and appears oddly flattened or even squashed.Here is a stubby example:
