It worked in yellow version, but some pokemon are game specific (unless you have a gameshark or something... or whatever is relative to it these days.) Is trade not an option in the game O.o That would more or less answer your question.

I think there is but I cannot find any guides on Google about it. Though I did read it is easier to get a Pikuchu in the Eevee version than the reversed.

O.o the logic behind that statement ... is amusing.
even so, if trade is a function (which given the game, i'd wager it is or will be implemented,) the concern should be unwarranted. Have you looked at youtube game plays, there are many.
