Some reasons why apple are good, off the top of my head:
Apps for iphone, ipod, ipad generally cost $1-$5. Even games that cost $50+ on a console.
All app updates are free.
All podcasts are free.
Controlling what can be installed on your device ensures fucktards don't fuck it up.

Ridiculous iDevice restrictions and lolpaidupdates aside, they do have out-fucking-standing customer support.
I walked into the local Apple store with my old 3G on the final warranty day because it had lost it's power button and was therefore effectively useless.
They had me wait five minutes for a rep to be available, which was fine. The guy walked over, looked at it, said 'lol we don't make these anymore', and instead of telling me I was SOL like any other place would, they up'd it to a shiny, new 3GS and sent me away, no questions asked.

Honestly it's like saying two suits do the same thing etc but one's more expensive you'd have to be an idiot to buy it. not necessarily, it buys you social standing. some people think an apple computer does that
