I try to stay out of the system32 folder so I would likely just forget about this, but I will likely never do it due to my fear of that folder fucking shit up.

Yea totally agree. One misstep on system32 and your system can become doomed. No one should enter system32 unless they have battery backup unless you have a huge power supply that is lightly loaded.
