Every day I feel like I yearn to identify as a robot. A gynoid to be more specific. I don't know if a certain cartoon when I was a kid ruined me. I have no idea why I yearn to be a "human robot" and spend time questioning how I could be more robot-like. I am starting to feel more and more deranged now. I think an irony here is that I have thoughts about how to become what I yearn to identify as whereas otherkin would likely revert back to their natural human instincts. I am fucking losing it.

How can there even be such a thing as a male or female robot? You have a fetish and might be autistic. I'm not even joking, you 100% have a fetish.

Is it really a fetish if it's non-sexual though? ?
And I would imagine robotic gender is because their programmers designed it that way. I mean, Alexa has a female name, and a female voice, but she doesn't have a biological sex because she is a machine.
Plus aren't the terms "android" and "gynoid" mostly used in science fiction stories anyway?
But I should have specified because I should have asked if I was using the term "gynoid" in an incorrect definition and if what I was told was wrong. My apologies. ?

I fail to see how this is sexual and I'm not sure why you think I am lying.
If a fetish could be something non-sexual then I would agree with you that this could be a fetish, but I'm not sure if fetishes exist non-sexually.
And I think we're in agreement about Alexa not having a gender.
@942,365 (I)
Yeah, I assume this myself and yet the thought always returns. I hate it so much. Of course, I posted this on /lgbt/ and I saved a very helpful post somewhere on my hard drive, so maybe I should give that another read should I find it. It suggested that this might just be a feeling of isolation and that I cannot connect with other people due to differences.

"A gynoid is anything that resembles or pertains to the female human form. Though the term android refers to robotic humanoids regardless of apparent gender, the Greek prefix "andr-" refers to man in the masculine gendered sense."
Given there is a huge Market currently for Sex Robots one can imagine that one day there will be Humans who wish to Role Play as one of these Sex Robots

Didn't the term "android" start with the meaning "male robot" and much like the word "man" changed its definition?
"Man" used to refer to humans in general thus the term "mankind."
Wouldn't "android" be the reverse situation? It started as a reference to "male robots" and changed its definition to refer to "all robots?"

@942,370 (Kook !!rcSrAtaAC)
I don't even think I like the idea of being forced into womanhood anymore and I think that fetish faded for me a long time ago when I realized that I was pursuing transitioning on my own. I think that fetish arrived via a train of desperation for me. Also, yearning to be a robot doesn't give me a sexual thrill, if anything it gives me a cloud of confusion, emotions, and disgust in myself.

I'm intrigued about why the coiner of the word chose to use that prefix now.
Upon learning about the term "gynoid" my brain automatically assumed it was just words shifting their meanings like the word "bully" which I have no idea how the fuck that came to mean something entirely different.

The term gynoid was first used by Gwyneth Jones in her 1985 novel Divine Endurance to describe a robot slave character in a futuristic China who is judged by her beauty.
Gynoid is also used in American English medical terminology as a shortening of the term gynecoid (gynaecoid in British English
In 1983, a busty female robot named "Sweetheart" was removed from a display at the Lawrence Hall of Science after a petition was presented claiming it was insulting to women. The robot's creator, Clayton Bailey, a professor of art at California State University, Hayward called this "censorship" and "next to book burning

Yeah, I think you might have struck gold because that question is still rolling around in my head. The "specific purpose" part of it mostly, though, clearly assigned traits does sound appealing. It feels like it would be nice to just have my personality laid out in front of me without losing the choice of what gender I am. As if that is the only thing in my life that I ever came to a confident decision about, it might actually be ???, other than that I have no fucking clue as to who I am identity-wise.

I still question if I am asexual though, but I think I grasp what you're telling me. Are you saying that you think I am "the first true asexual" person you've ever met in terms of libido? I've asked around the asexual community a few times and even they don't seem to be asexual in how the average person may think an asexual person would be.

"Frequently" might not be the right word, but I agree with you. Because of these sexual fantasies, they are the reasons why I question if I am truly asexual (which might not actually fucking exist due to reasons I noted above), though I have found myself questioning why I have some of the sexual fantasies that I have. I think some of them may have faded like that forced womanhood one.

Well, don't feel like you have to come up with concrete answers all the time. People's identities can be pretty fluid over their lifetimes. It's okay not to know. It sounds like it's a question that really bothers you though.

I think this might be the reason why a fucking design class which encourages creativity is more difficult for me than mathematics.

Actually, Kook, I'm sorry, I might have actually lied since upon further reflection there were a few times I have often wondered what it would be like to be a sex robot (doll mostly not so much bot) like in @942,380 (Syntax). I think this quick reflection made me realized that I was telling a lie even though I thought I wasn't.
Though I think this goes deeper than a sexual fetish since I rarely have such fantasies. I'm more likely thinking about what my life would be like if I had been designed by a manufacturer than what sex would be like. Which is why if fetishes could be non-sexual then the non-sexual fetish might overlap with whatever sexual fetish there would be. Though I do question if the servitude aspect of this could pertain to what you're suggesting, that is something that I was questioning prior to the making of this thread.
I believe that both you and Anonymous D raise good points.
