How are your new business shorts? Are they above or below the knee?
Is your level of comfort in important business meetings going to greatly increase with a suit jacket, shirt, tie, and shorts? And are you going with an athletic shoe, business socks combo?

Never not once in shorts for business. Used to be a major buyer of quality ties. Qualcomm culture cured me of buying lots of ties cause its super uncommon to wear one. However there sure are many occasions where I do and that includes Q on occasion. Sandals on my beach for sure.

Nope and yes there are Engineers that do wear shorts but just not me. I own a lot of shorts but not one wood be suitable for business.
Also as a Hardware Engineer where I on occasions end up crawling into guts of huge racks of equipment or even under racks or on Roof of Qualcomm buildings where all kinds of experiments are going on - Shorts wood NOT be suitable for crawling around.
Many occasions where I enter equipment bunkers at Cell Antenna locations most of which locally are Verizon based I bet there is a legal protocol that forbids shorts. For sure there are shoe regulations and regulations that forbid metal watch bands and usually it's best to have on long sleeve shirts
