They are not broadcasted worldwide, nor are people on other cell phones notified that another person is making a phone call.

International calls frequently use satellites, so what you say is incorrect. And you are notified when someone is making a call if you are in their immediate vicinity and hear them talking. I'm still waiting for you to address this major flaw in your argument.

No but you are notified when someone else's phone is ringing. You are also notified when a thread is created that is directed to someone else.
