Good news, it is not progeria. It is merely some inability to grow certain tissue. "Lizzie Velasquez was born without the ability to create adipose cells and has no adipose tissue. She has to eat 5,000 to 8,000 calories a day, over the course of 60 meals or she could literally starve to death. Why? I'll get to that in a bit."

"In Ms. Velasquez's case, she doesn't have any long term storage to keep energy. She just has the glycogen stores. Those will only last her a few hours before they need to be replenished. A normal person can survive for weeks off of just their fat stores. She has to eat nearly every 15 minutes to keep her glycogen filled. The food she eats that isn't used as energy or glycogen storage is filtered out as waste."
