Topic: YouTube, please tell me how the fuck I am eligible for monetization.

Externally hosted imageHalf of the videos I upload are unlisted or private and it's not even a regular channel that pumps out content on a regular basis.

I don't know, I didn't enable it. I'm not a regular YouTuber.

Just put up a video screaming about the Jews. I'm sure they'll fasttrack your monetization request in no time.

I don't know, lol, they seem pretty tickled by a re-upload of a Facebook video where some man is strapped down while being tickled on his feet.

It's obvious because it's kink, but it feels weird that they immediately target a channel with literally unlisted videos and zero views to enforce their guidelines over the more popular ones first especially since they have a poor reputation of letting things slide under the crack.

"Advertisers only pay when someone clicks an ad or watches for 30 seconds. This is why you can't tie your channel views to dollars. If your video gets ten million views but nobody watches or click the ads, you don't make any money."

Has anyone here once just once clicked an ad on youtube?
lol
Betting never not one single time.

I remember about ten years ago the most expensive Google AdWord was "Mesothelioma" and it was something like $50 a click. Sometimes I would Google search Mesothelioma and click on the litigation ads and giggle that some dumbshit lawyer just wasted $50 on a click ?

This will give myself away but what the hell. I own stock in Google. It is beyond wallet filling wonderful. So on occasion I do click on those ads that add to Googles revenue. Anything to help out one hell of a great company. That said I have never clicked on a youtube ad.

So back to monetization - They set the bar rather high just to get onto the program.

"Jan 16, 2018" YouTube is tightening the rules around its partner program and raising the requirements that a channel/creator must meet in order to monetize videos. Effective immediately, to apply for monetization (and have ads attached to videos), creators must have tallied 4,000 hours of overall watch time on their channel within the past 12 months and have at least 1,000 subscribers. YouTube will enforce the new eligibility policy for all existing channels as of February 20th, meaning that channels that fail to meet the threshold will no longer be able to make income from ads.

@OP
As for how you're eligible: all you ever talk about is Star Wars, Taco Bell, and Minecraft.

YouTube knows you're not going to do anything crazy that might upset advertisers. They can trust you to run an ad for Tide Pods™ on your Minecraft let's play.
