I judge my Pho's based on versions I had in Vietnam. They vary in huge ways in Nam. Serious Ramen's in Japan are more consistent.
With Pho's and I am remembering my first one which was in Los Angeles before a trip to Vietnam - Someone and I forget who - Showed me the ropes re what you do with the bowl after they set it on the table. I notice many White Americans leave most of the Basil or all of it because they have no clue what it is used for AND Many never add the Fresh Bean Sprouts or have a clue about adding the condiments.
Best of all is to discover that Sriracha may not be necessary because many a place concocts their own fresh version of a spicy oil to add.
