One thing I find interesting is the regional differences within parties. I'm from New Jersey, and here is Bob Hugin's ad for Senate. Which party (if any) is he running for? He's a Republican, and yet you would not be able to tell that necessarily just from watching that ad. Compare that to, say Marsha Blackburn's ad running in Tennessee. Very different in tone, message and temperament, despite being nominally the same party.

There are never going to be that many independent candidates, and those already there (King, Sanders) caucus with a party. House needs to total 435, Senate needs to total 100, Governors needs to total 50.

Depends on what you're looking for. Overall direction of the house? Probably 9-9:30pm eastern us time (so 2hrs from now) I'd say it will start to become clear. The overall senate we should know around the same time. For individual races it depends on what state it's in. East coast states we'll know sooner, west coast/Midwest ones later due to time zones.

Good thing that FOX News is the original fake news then. Haven't they learned that they shouldn't call things early? I remember these news channels projecting Clinton's victory in 2016 and then Trump won.

T_D is mad haha.
I doubt the Dems will try to impeach Trump as they don't have the senate votes. If they get some ideas and policies worked out they can work with Trump. Build some stuff. But I don't think it's certain who will become speaker. Parts of the Dems just want to investigate, not legislate.
Catherine !ttGirlsPl2 replied with this 7 years ago, 4 minutes later, 11 hours after the original post[^][v]#933,891
If the Dems gain control of the House they essentially gain more control over the country. Trump still has the power of veto and I get the feeling that he wouldn't hesitate to veto some shit out of spite giving his retarded over-infatuated ego.
Unless he pulls a flip-flop and starts promoting Democrat values.

This one was a difficult one for me. Problem is that California under Prop 13 - Simply cannot come up with the money to maintain roads. The new Gas tax is a burden on poor people - However poor people need decent roads and the older cars they have end up trashed because of road problems. So in the long run the poor will be better off with better roads. Their children will thank them.
I suspect people like me who live in high end neighborhoods end up with the best of the roads - I want those lesser off than me to have great roads as well.

i didn't read the pamphlet because i don't live in california anymore but now i'm interested
was the gas tax specifically for funding roadway improvement? tbh my town was nicer than 'cardiff by the sea' but our roads were total shit. they paved hwy 1 and one main road just last year but left all the residential streets full of potholes. billionaire neighborhoods were the only ones with well-maintained roads. The ones that really got me were the rural roads. Crossing into Nevada always irked me (their roads are so much better!) I like the idea but the source of funds is kinda dubious what with the extravagant gas prices in most of california anyway. would have waited for another proposition

This is the most imbecilic arguement about how the poor will benefit from clean roads. The roads are literally exactly the same as they were before the gas tax. All they are doing are dumbass beautification projects like planting bushes in the median of the 125.

@934,039 (Catherine !ttGirlsPl2) > You honestly think they are going to spend the money on improving our roads in the "poorer regions" of the state?
Yes because there are lots of poor people who live in LARGE Cities who need to get to work - Image illustrates what happens in large cities when the poor cannot get to work so much so easy.
@934,080 (P)
Clean is not so much the issue - Wide enough - in some cases 16 lanes each way is not enough

You know there is a thing as saying/printing one thing and doing another, right? I mean, shit, you talking about how trannies are one thing yet they role play as something else. I know you know this.
Just because the words on the Prop says one thing or promises one thing doesn’t mean that promise is going to be fulfilled. Donald J. Trump, Barack H. Obama, and practically every other politician gets accused of this at some point. The State of California hasn’t been keeping their promises to better the roads using the money from the gas tax making said gas tax utterly pointless and a burden on the lower class. But keep enjoying that “smooth ride,” that clearly isn’t a douchebag sentiment.
