I blame CNN for normalising right-wing hatred.

Something he retweeted:

First Trump came for the Charlottesville 4 but I kept supporting Trump because he is better than Hillary Clinton.
Then Trump came for the Rise Above Movement but I kept supporting Trump because he is better than Hillary Clinton.
Then Trump came for the Proud Boys but I kept supporting Trump because he is better than Hillary Clinton.
Then Trump came for me and the was no one left to support me.

I hope this guy burns in hell.

I don’t think Trump even knows what Rise Above Movement is or Proud Boys

He is definitely a know-nothing type of politician, but I don't think that really matters.

Yeah I don't remember Trump ever saying anything about the Proud Boys one way or another. I never even heard of the Rise Above Movement.

Trump has been keeping up on recent news looking for talking points at rallies. He reportedly watches a lot of news even when he isn't campaigning. With recent news stories about the Proud Boys fight after leaving the Metropolitan Republican Club in NYC and stories about RAM members roles in Charlottesville and more than a few journalists and politicians blaming Trump's rhetoric for this kind of radicalization, it's hard to imagine that he somehow missed the recent news stories or that no one mentioned them to him. I think it's naive to assume the POTUS is somehow in the dark about all this.

Why does Trump's rhetoric get blamed for this, but Bernie's rhetoric doesn't get blamed for the attempted assassination of Steve Scalise?

I'm not trying to say the Scalise is just as bad as this synagogue shooting, but the "violent rhetoric" thing never seems to apply to the left

Did you miss the past year or so of hand-wringing about leftist mobs and Antifa scare stories?

is Bernie also known for tough-guy talk the way trump is?

Yeah. The Bernie shooter listened to what he said and then shot up a baseball game. All Bernie supporters are just like that guy.
