It doesn't really even work for babies. The Mozart Effect is a spurious finding that a lot of people capitalized on by writing books. People broadening their horizons by trying to appreciate different kinds of music might result in them being more interesting people, but it won't make them geniuses.
Besides, everybody knows the smartest people all already listen to Slayer.

They are only borderline unlistenable if you are unable to appreciate music. People who are broken inside say that. People who are unable to live a life full of joy and moments say that. People who can't appreciate all the beauty and noise and just bask in the glow of universe around them say things like that. Awaken from your dreamy state! Right now you are like some medieval peasant staring up agape at a grand new world stretching out before you, uncomprehending and scared. Embrace it. It won't hurt. Open your heart and learn love again. You still have time to change.

You’re very aggressive and close minded with regards to your opinions on music. I don’t like metal to be fair but you take it to another level with your constant declarations on what music is good or bad. It makes you seem very small minded and ignorant. My small interactions with you on these forums makes me believe you aren’t a very bright person which is funny because you carry yourself with a pompous and frankly a very boring and stoic attitude. I think you should seek psychiatric help because seem to have a lot of pent up agression and probably a lot of self loathing.
