Banksy partakes in a cynical publicity stunt that instantly elevates an 'artwork' that sold for 1.4 million to a value of at least 5 times that, because modern art's value is entirely dependent on its notoriety, and that (not even remotely) 'shredded' image has now become one of the most valuable objects in the modern 'art' world. Oh, and the shameless monetising of art is, like, really bad or something.

The funniest thing is how they saved the auction of that picture for last and it somehow was inside a frame with a built in shredder and the Sotheby’s people supposedly had no idea.
