Weekends are major Festival events NOW - This weekend is Cajun/Blues/Zydeco in Long Beach
Last week it was Wine Cheese Chocolate and next day the Oyster Festival. Huge street fairs coming up and several beer festivals. First major 6000+ people free park concert starts on Friday in Carlsbad, blues band but friends are trying to sort out OTHER things going on.

Actually in the decade I have been here, I have no clue about Chula Vista and lots of San Diego
If it has a club to swing dance in then I have been to that part of town. Or if someone throws a party then I know that part of town. Street fairs same deal. One day I will do tourist thing with friends from Europe and play tourista myself.
