Firstly one should follow a few basic guidelines when posting online. Never give anyone your real name or share any personal details with anyone, this should be a given yet it still happens.
Never use your real name when signing up for a forum or website. Use a trash e-mail for registering for forums, porn sites etc. Always use a different handle or username on each site you use. The more usernames you have the harder it is for someone to trace your steps online. Never link any of these profiles or usernames to each other. If you need a MSN account or a Skype account for a certain forum make a new one, don't use one that you used for some other site.
Always rename files you downloaded off of Facebook before sharing them with someone or uploading them to a *chan.
The file names for these photos contain the profile ID so the user who uploaded the pic can be found easily.
Everything on 4chan is archived now, so be careful what you post! Don't post anything on 4chan that can be traced back to you from here -> http://archive.no-ip.org/
This site allows you to search all boards for a specific e-mail or tripcode so be wary of what you post!
If you post with a tripcode simply search for it and then send the results page saying you want it to be removed to this e-mail: [email protected] , from my experience he will remove the results but it may take a few days for him to so.
Secondly, you will want to remove any traces of your RL (real life) off Google StreetView and WhitePages.
To remove yourself from Google StreetView follow these steps:
1. Type your home street address into Google Maps
2. Click Steetview
3. Click the "Report a Problem" Link in the lower left corner of the page.
4. Choose the option saying that your house has been displayed, then just write a few sentences about how you are worried about your online privacy and you do not want your home displayed.
To remove yourself from WhitePages is even easier.
1. Goto : http://www.whitepages.com/
2. Type your home address in.
3. Next click the "Claim and Edit" link to the left of the result.
4. Next you would enter your e-mail and then you will receive a confirmation letter you have to click.
5. Finally just uncheck every box displayed and change your name do something ridiculous like Shania Twain or Robert Zimmerman. Your home and family will no longer be exposed to the Internet. Do this for all of your immediate family members.
Next you should opt out of Intellius, this service costs money to search for people so it's not a very high priority but someone dedicated could use it if they really wished to.

"In order for Intelius to “opt out†your public information from being viewable on the Intelius website, we need to verify your identity and require faxed proof of identity. Proof of identity can be a state issued ID card or driver's license. If you are faxing a copy of your driver's license, we require that you cross out the photo and the driver's license number. We only need to see the name, address and date of birth. Please fax to 425-974-6194 and allow 4 to 6 weeks to process your request. "
Tips:
Delete your Facebook, this is just asking for your privacy to be invaded. Make sure all your security settings are maxed out and remove yourself from any networks you are in if you choose to keep it, be sure to NEVER show your friends list.
Don't ever camwhore period.
Never post nudes lol
Always post anonymously when it's an option, don't invest yourself in a particular site, you possibly may get involved in drama that may turn out bad for you if your personal info gets leaked.
Use a VPN or a proxy when browsing sketchy sites like ED or *chans that aren't particularly concerned with protecting their users' privacy (ie. posting of bad users/trolls IP addresses)
If you get doxxed, don't panic! Simply close any and all online accounts you have, change your answering machine message, consider abusing the DMCA to remove any offending material, do not feed your attackers with anything just ignore it.

People wood enter for insults and receive them cost free. A few were of such poor educations and other had parents that were better off in Prison and they begged for flames and insults.
The worst of the worst were liars and plagiarizer cheats. One went on to claim importing a oak tree and motor scooter from England. His plan was to kidnap children but was busted as just stealing the photos off the web.
Last we heard of that fool, he got a MA from a crap0al Diploma mill using Plagiarizer methods and in a subject of no use to anyone. He however is qualified to flip burgers or fill a taco shell.

Pretty good advice, I've done all of that stuff. There are some other subtle things you can do, like getting a phone which blocks private callers (if you wanna go one step further, it's better to use prepaid mobile phone instead of having a land-line, a lot less of a paper trail and much more obnoxious for private investigators). Never customize your answer phone message. Buy a cross cut shredder and use it for disposing of any letters. Change the location of your house in Google maps (type in your address, click the marker, then click "more" in the bubble then click "move marker", choose some other house further down the street). Chances are at some point you used the same username for a lot of different accounts, get those removed by deleting accounts, editing shit and e-mailing webmasters (I had a forum account with >3000 posts deleted, a bunch of Urban Dictionary entries, etc). Use a good e-mail provider like Hushmail that doesn't send your IP address in the headers of each e-mail you send (viewable to the recipient). A VPN like SwissVPN, Ipredator or Perfect-Privacy will encrypt your connection and change your IP address whilst not slowing down your connection very much. You can fortify your home and hide weapons all over the place, but that's another matter.
