Azumanga Daioh (cute, extremely well made and a lot more innocent than later works story about high-school life).
Ghost in the Shell. (Predecessor of Matrix, still a classic.)
Tiger and Bunny(Superhero show. Current season. Feels very western, with interesting characters, awesome designs and a plot that never gets boring)
Steins;Gate:
Let's say you have a jobless guy.
Let's say he pretends he's got a couple of lose screws.
Let's say that guy genuinely believes he's onto some grand time travel conspiracy, which makes it necessary for him to feign insanity?
What if… all of it is true?
Add in a couple of creepycute (more creepy, really) girls and you got yourself a story that is 3 parts WAT and 1 part pure awesome.
Nowhere else will they use quantum telepathy to turn bananas into jelly.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan: Pure Adrenalin and Not much else.
Mix Death Race with Tokyo Drift, add a bit of RAGE AGAINST THE MAN and make the cars into UNIVERSE SIZED ROBOTS and you've got yourself a great show. :3
