And boy are my arms tired. I was walking my sister's dog and she got off the leash and I tripped and slid downhill on pavement chasing after it. Dog is fine at home, I got 2 x-rays (both negative) and 2 stitches. Waiting for a tetanus shot because debris got into a pretty deep cut and I got the shot 9 years ago. I have scrapes on the palms of both hands, a knee laceration that didn't need stitches, a deep gash on my forearm that needed 2 stitches, and scrapes/bruises on my side.

My advice if you are thinking of falling down hard on pavement is don't.

Yeah I'm out. I was only there for a couple hours to get bandaged/stitched up and then I went home. I'm starting to heal which is nice, but it was hard falling asleep last night because of the pain. My sister had some percocet and I took one but it did literally nothing for me. I wasn't in like a tremendous amount of pain but it didn't dull any of it at all. Maybe i need to take two pills? Idk. Also the hospital gave me two tylenol with codeine but it also barely numbed the pain. I'm taking antibiotics and ibuprofen. Today things are just sore all over, even the parts that don't have visible external wounds. I think I'll shower tonight and change the bandages I haven't changed yet. Being hurt sucks!

They said its muscle spasms. They said no bed rest bc i should move as much as the pain allows but also no crutches bc they'll encourage me to move too much. So 3 days off school/work. I cant walk enough to get to school anyway :(

All they gave me was naproxen, some topical cream, and a bit of flexeril. Got some morphine from illicit sources but im done w that i dont wanna get dopesick.

I'll look into that if I can't tough it out. The sutures need to be removed in 10-14 days and everything else should be completely healed by then as well I think. It's just gonna be a shitty week and a half-2 weeks. I'm hoping to be good enough to do some stuff on my own by tomorrow/friday instead of being mostly bedridden by pain/soreness/reopening wounds.

No bed rest is rough! I guess you're just doing some light moving around or whatever. I'm sorry the timing was so academically bad for you bb :(. At least it's the first couple days so you won't like be missing tests or anything.

That's not a lot of drugs! I was only prescribed antibiotics so they must be really cracking down on painkillers everywhere which makes sense. And yeah definitely don't risk getting too deep into that stuff. Do you have people looking after you? My sister felt really guilty and is being very sweet about it and helping out.

That's good! Injuries suck to deal with alone, I'm glad you've got people looking out for you. She made me breakfast and will also make lunch and dinner. She's just like keeping an eye on me and making sure if I need anything I get it. She's not usually this nurturing so I'm very surprised but also grateful. My next job doesn't start for about 2 weeks so actually I have some time off. I was planning on doing other stuff with this time but uh I guess I'm gonna be recuperating instead. Are you still working part time or are you just doing school now that it's started?

I can't say for dox purposes but I'm working for some organization in DC short term until after the midterms and then a lot of jobs should open up hopefully. I didn't really have like definite plans but I was gonna visit some old friends and hang out with some people down here. Also was gonna job hunt for a part time job to help pay the bills but I'll do that when I can stand without pain for more than five minutes and I'm not all wrapped up like a monster.
