For those of you that have done a pushup, what is the maximum number of pushups that you have managed in a row? Or in a 24-h period?

no. i'm always surprised at like average upper body strength for other people because most of my friends who do manual labor for a living and could definitely beat me at arm wrestling can't do like even ten push-ups. i'm pretty small though and that might have something to do with it. even when i'm not in shape i can do at least 20. i have a pull-up bar now and i've been doin ten of those when i feel like it

If you do 12 often enough, then you will find you can do more and you don't get tired at 12 after a while. Kind of like with any form of exertion.

No it should happen pretty quick. It's just like flying. Most people can't fly very far at first either.
