I live in an area where they are super common. My brother once came across one so big, that it sounded similar to a helicopter, when flying. Luckily, they do not normally live inside city limits.

"Tarantula hawk wasps are relatively docile and rarely sting without provocation. However, the sting—particularly that of P. grossa—is among the most painful of all insects, though the intense pain only lasts about five minutes. One researcher described the pain as "...immediate, excruciating, unrelenting pain that simply shuts down one's ability to do anything, except scream. Mental discipline simply does not work in these situations."
Cops need to breed these for use as crowd control.

The cops here have a Tank that shoots water for crowd control. We also have one of the best PDs in the US, so they have never had to use it.

That guy on the YouTube channel Brave Wilderness purposely got stung by one on camera. He also got stung by a bullet ant. It was pretty fun to watch

Do you think these vids might spark a wave of "insect sting challenges", like the cold water/hot water/immolation challenges we've seen recently?
