Topic: Hysteria over the "child sex abuse scandal" is ruining innocent priests' lives

An innocent Indiana priest is beaten unconscious by a man shouting "this is for all the little kids".

Priests MUST feel safe and protected enough to administer their clerical duties. This hysteria has to stop. The sooner the media stop obsessing over this story, the sooner Catholic priests can get back to disseminating God's word.

The hysteria will stop when catholics stop raping young boys. Too bad the priest is still alive. Death would be better for him.

> beaten unconscious

You should rephrase that as "inappropriate contact" or "boundary issues" when writing about it so the victim doesn't appear to have a case and we can cover it up later.

The priest in the article had never been accused of any wrong-doing. You are celebrating the beating to near-death of innocent people. You angry repressed pedophiles sure do like to take the 'moral high-ground' don't you?

We really don't know that to be true, and little is known about the priest's past. All we have to go on is the testimony of a man after he suffered a head injury and that of his friend who routinely talks to imaginary people. I don't think we should jump to conclusions about this event.

As confusing and upsetting as this might seem, it all happened for a reason as part of God's plan. What Christ would want us to do is focus on forgiveness for everyone involved. Getting upset about this and feeling like it's unfair is very human. Let all your anger go. Forgiveness is divine.

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:25
