Game: A 3D sandbox RPG (may be expanded to multiplayer) which uses fairly high-end graphics. Realism will be a priority here, though a reasonable learning curve will be established. Think of a cross between Dwarf Fortress and Wurm, with an overcrowded, walled starting city for people to scrounge a living until they are ready to take risks and expand their horizons. I am still considering the death elements, though I think some alien technology may be used to bring people back at the expense of experience. Generally forestry and plains.
Setting/Storyline: The game takes place on Earth after unknown beings have overtaken and then, for reasons unknown, vanished. Their presence has faded into myth and lore, yet evidence of their occupation and life before remains. Discs miles across, hidden by rough and sandy prairies exist where cities one stood. Crumbling bores stretching deep within the earth remain unexplored. Distressed mountains mar the landscape and transform great rivers into sludge. Perhaps, the observant might even catch a fleeting glimpse of life before and live to tell of their discovery. As the surviving threads of humanity fight to expand and recolonize, will superstition give way to science and ritual to intuition? And what riddles did these invaders leave in their midst?
