Topic: What "hate speech" did Alex Jones do exactly?
Meta !Sober//iZs started this discussion 7 years ago#77,633
I don't follow him so I'm out of the loop but apparently he's been banned by Apple, Facebook, Spotify, and Youtube for "hate speech".
What did he say that was so bad?
On the other hand though, Jones has got to be loving this. The Deep State crisis actors are staging a false flag trying to shut down the truth about the Reptilian-Freemason illuminati!!!!

It's unclear to me what exactly "hate speech" even means on these platforms but I don't know what he's said in the like last couple weeks that is any more insane or hateful than the shit he's been saying for years.
Not sad to see him go because he is one of the rare cases of people who provide actually zero useful information and actively works only to create as much chaos and insecurity as he can to sell his fake viagra pills or whatever.

Zionists faked the sandy hook massacre to force gun control on america was the big one I know about. His supports are rabid fucking retards and harassed the parents of dead children over that. That was years ago, so I don't know what changed with the higher ups at youtube/twitter/fb to suddenly ban him now.

@previous (Fake anon !ZkUt8arUCU) https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/08/enforcing-our-community-standards/
So what happened with InfoWars? They were up on Friday and now they are down?
As a result of reports we received, last week, we removed four videos on four Facebook Pages for violating our hate speech and bullying policies. These pages were the Alex Jones Channel Page, the Alex Jones Page, the InfoWars Page and the Infowars Nightly News Page. In addition, one of the admins of these Pages – Alex Jones – was placed in a 30-day block for his role in posting violating content to these Pages.
Since then, more content from the same Pages has been reported to us — upon review, we have taken it down for glorifying violence, which violates our graphic violence policy, and using dehumanizing language to describe people who are transgender, Muslims and immigrants, which violates our hate speech policies.
All four Pages have been unpublished for repeated violations of Community Standards and accumulating too many strikes. While much of the discussion around Infowars has been related to false news, which is a serious issue that we are working to address by demoting links marked wrong by fact checkers and suggesting additional content, none of the violations that spurred today’s removals were related to this.

I could see why his shit is misinterpreted as hate-speech as someone who used to regularly listen to him hoping he would spaz in that instance.

I mean that's the thing. I've read the NYT and Guardian articles about it, but I can't find what he actually said that crossed a red line. If they said he was banned for "fake news" it would make perfect sense and I wouldn't give it a second thought.

You would have to ask Apple or Facebook or Spotify about what specific terms he violated in each instance, or go watch all his stuff and make a list of things that could trigger complaints. It doesn't sound like there was just one thing that he said that led to his being removed but rather a repeated series of remarks that added up to violent fear-mongering. As much as I enjoy watching him run around shirtless talking about fighting and killing his real or imaginary enemies, I don't blame major platforms for not wanting to be associated with him.
I don't think his content has changed so much as his audience has grown, and now companies are worried that tolerating Alex Jones will be construed as a tacit endorsement of his message. I'm guessing that Facebook and Apple and the rest all did the math on how booting him will reflect on their public image and profits. If his audience was still a few lonely guys living in someone's garage, this wouldn't be an issue.

Be careful when applauding censorship; the hands that clap will be handcuffed by the same malice. Freedoms are always taken away at the margins by targeting fringe elements.
If you don't believe offensive speech should be allowed, you don't believe in free speech. Remember when liberals demanded liberty for all? Now they demand their media give them totalitarian censorship and rejoice about it!
No one is defending Alex Jones. Principled people are defending everyone's freedom of speech in the public square, and for due process that has been taken away on the whim of a Billionaire.
You now live in a world where the only principled people are Republicans

Yes they are. They are afforded the protections of netural platforms. Twitter has come under fire recently for shadowbanning Conservatives. To suppress Conservatives is to negativity influence political opinion. This is why Twitter stock tanked by 50% and they haven't, so far, joined in the clear and obvious "conspiracy" against Jones...

No they are private companies who can decide to ban or not ban any of its users for whatever reason they want. Do you think banning people on the internet is illegal??

Alex Jones got banned because he snorted cocaine in front of a toddler on the beach.

The only reason is because of $ @jack, plain & simple. At least just admit it. You're profitable now exactly because of people like Alex Jones & the ilk. Don't try to be something you're not.
