If you remember? Those Newspaper stories had the most recent photo of her. As I remember it she had facial hair at the time of her death.

I can see the argument if someone has like a crippling disease/physical disability that makes living life permanently unpleasant. In Nexus' case she was kind of a headcase and probably wasn't in the best relationship in the world and also abused LSD but all of those things are fixable or at least able to be reduced to a manageable level in theory. I didn't know her life really so I can't say for sure but in principle I think Nexus' life could have turned out ok given a change in scenery and some therapy and other things.

Very possible, but not knowing specifics, I don't know if she was getting professional help/meds etc. I think if she genuinely had exhausted all reasonable methods of acquiring mental health help and found them all inadequate, with no hope of the situation getting better, then yeah I could see suicide as understandable alternative. Getting into a drug-induced shootout with the cops at night is probably not the way to do it though even, if killing oneself were defensible.
In general though I think because healthcare, therapy etc. are all improving over time, euthenasia/assisted suicide is removing the possibility of ever healing an injured person, so I really do not like it except in really extreme/niche cases.

I remember Nexi told me that I should stay away from a certain brand of estrogen because it was made with horse estrogen. I recently read a book about gender transitioning which sort of confirmed that. I thought of her when I read it too. I remember watching Transparent with her and asking if she did what the main character did when the main character injected themselves with hormones in the buttcheek. She answered enthusiastically with a yes.

So whatever drugs she may have been abusing must have come after we hung out. I still regret not e-mailing her more though. Not sure if I could have made a difference in her life, but at least, there was a chance of it had I did.
