Depends how much he knew about the overall hacking thing. If, for example, he knew that Russia was already poking around Dem campaign computers and he then said "Hey while you're committing this crime also commit the same crime on someone else" I think that puts him in at the very least impeachment hot water, if not immediate legal jeopardy.
