I was told that it was terrible because of the Muslim migration and that I won't meet any Europeans, but I get the sense that maybe that was just a tiny bit of racism shining through clouding their judgment on European cities. Surely, they can't be any bad than most American cities and suburbs. Can they?

> I won't meet any Europeans
Doubt that is even possible. You cannot get through customs in Eu without meeting them.

Relocating from that tiny city in the desert of California to Europe.
First relocate to a larger US city first, otherwise the culture shock will probably be to much.

Anyone who thinks that Europe is majority Muslim, and that you will not meet any Europeans is...listen closely...a stupid piece of shit. That is 100% not true. I am going to guess that the person who told you this happened to vote for Trump.

Maybe try Eastern Europe. I've read that the former Eastern Block countries are popular retirement destinations for British emigrants. I visited Romania a few years ago and was impressed by both the country and its people.

Don’t worry and don’t listen to knuckledragging, Fox News watching, racist Trump worshippers. Europe is charming, and it might be just the thing you need.

Do you think that living in Europe would improve your life?

I should have noted this question if hypothetical, but I still wouldn't have liked information regarding Europe as perhaps it could be a place to retire. Although, I wouldn't mind retiring to Canada.

Today, people are coming from around the world to Serbia for sex change operations, which are now subsidized for Serbs by national health insurance.
Nearly 100 foreigners and Serbs have undergone sex reassignment surgery in the past year, and the numbers are growing, according to the Belgrade Center for Genital Reconstructive Surgery, with candidates coming from France, Russia and Iran, and from as far away as the United States, South Africa, Singapore and Australia.
Serbia is becoming a transgender surgery hub, experts say, in part because genital reassignment surgery is costly, controversial and complicated and is shunned in many other countries in the region, including Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece and the other countries of the former Yugoslavia, according to Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic, a professor of urology who leads the Belgrade Center.
