because i did
im used to seeing dolphins and sharks and whales and such but i was in a park by a populated strech of a large river in the pnw last week and as soon as I walked to the bank I saw a fish jump and it confused the heck out of me for a moment because it was dolphin-sized
it was like 200 meters away at least and I saw the silhouette in the air for a few moments. it felt like a long time. it was a meter in the air and looked like it could have been nearly 2 meters long
like easily a hundred pound fish
it was wild

It wasn't a record breaking salmon it was a regular steelhead plus your brain exaggerating the size a bit.

steelhead don't get that big and i've seen big fish jump before. and i've seen steelhead. i was with people who also saw it and also were confused and then amazed

Thinking perhaps he saw the Jesus Christ Fish twin. The one that got away when Jesus was feeding Fish to all dem people with that water that turned to wine.

Yo was not trying to offend you. I am out almost every morning early to Surf my Ocean a Blue. Almost daily I see Dolphins - No Salmon in my part of town except at the Fish Market.
Now about this Salmon that was the size of a Dolphin - Have you attempted to go out and catch it? You too could pretend to be Jesus Christ re-born when you serve it up to your neighbors

OK and I see Whales but only about once every three months or so. And as for fishing I am horrible at that. Have had success on a boat but off a pier or casting from Beach to Ocean I am just no good at that - Nor at High Sierra lakes.

Lots of fish here and I mean Lots. Daily they ride the Surf in with me. Surfers have been run over by them and Dolphins as well but so far no such luck for me
Cannot really say less or more Whales given here the number is so rare really
