Topic: "The kids are doomed!" "Rescue is impossible!" "The caves are flooded!"......God: "Leave this to Me"

All 12 children and the coach are safe! Hallelujah!!!!!!

Remember how a week ago everybody was saying the children were certainly going to die because more rain was coming and the waters were impenetrable? And then the rain mysteriously stopped a moment before it reached the caves? And the water in the caves miraculously receded and allowed the kids to walk most of the way (anybody else reminded of the parting of the Red Sea)?

Gloating is a sin, therefore I will not do it. But I will note: you look very, very silly right now, atheists.

Why did God rescue pagans though

sure, sure. when it's american high school kids escaping from tragic disaster they're "crisis actors." when vietnamese children escape from a harrowingly dangerous and likely impossibly life threatening situation it's all hallelujah and hand clapping.

if you think these kids are the same kids that died in that cave then you're a bunch of fucking idiots.

Oh it's real, anonymous C, it's real... and I seriously hope you are looking forward to the slew of Oscar-winning Ripped-from-the-headlines Hollywood adaptations and the series of Lifetime Original Movies that will subsequently be released over the next 2 decades.

They're alive because of the heroic actions of the rescuers, who put their lives on the line to rescue those children.

The only reason God helped was because he was about to get showed up by Elon musk and his mini rocket subs.

God sat back and let men save those children, while letting Africans die of strange, horrifying diseases on the regular as Americans eat themselves into an early grave. A fine and just God you have there!

It was God who gave those rescuers courage and the knowledge of what to do.

When you have to minimize the accomplishments of brave people in a difficult situation in order to shoehorn your religion into relevance, you might be the monster here.

When you have to minimize the impact of God in our lives in order to be an edgy atheist, you might be the moron here.

It's not even about being an atheist. I'm referring to your actions. You are discounting the amount of hard work and skill that the Thai military and numerous volunteers brought to bear on rescuing those people in order to aggrandize your religion. Is the only way you can see God in any of this is by retroactively giving him credit for other peoples achievements? He must not be so great if you have to resort to such dirty tricks.

I specifically mentioned their "courage and knowledge of what to do". You'll find you look less of an idiot if you learn to pay attention to what's being said, ok kid?

> Is the only way you can see God in any of this is by retroactively giving him credit for other peoples achievements?
> retroactively

I have been saying since this began that God would save them. You'll find you look less of an idiot if you understand the words you use, ok kid?

> He must not be so great if you have to resort to such dirty tricks.

You describe praising God's essential role in a miraculous rescue as a "dirty trick" after claiming this isn't about being an edgy atheist. Ok kid. Ok.

Do you think accusing me of being an idiot and an edgy atheist takes the focus off your actions?

Any courage or knowledge those rescuers displayed you have attributed to God rather than to them. That's the dirty trick here. It's one thing for someone to accomplish something themselves and say that God was really to thank. It might seem silly to some, but we recognize that as an act of humility. That person is demonstrating that they aren't being prideful. You doing that for them is just co-opting their accomplishments in order to aggrandize your belief. It's lazy. There are so many other good stories you could tell about this - sacrifice, helping others, guiding the innocent back into the fold. Almost anything you could say would be a better choice than diminishing the accomplishments of others in order to give God all the credit.

No, I think it best describes the situation we have right now.
