I saw a funny image once that was a letter with a bullethole through the serif and the bottom text was "I shot the serif"
Really though, I find serifs make fonts easier to read. This sans serif thing has gone too far. I mean just try to tell l (lowercase L) and I (uppercase i) apart in Arial...

Can you imagine caring even in the slightest about fonts?

What are some words where you could mix up the lower case l and the capital I?

It took me years to figure out that the Beastie Boys album Licensed to Ill wasn't actually about the band being licensed to roman numeral III. The misunderstanding led to significant embarrassment during my teen years which resulted in social ostracism and a growing lack of confidence that followed me into adulthood. I blame the use of sans-serif fonts in various publications for my current lack of friends and failure to find gainful employment.

Becky as a child: I want candy.
Becky as an adult: I want fonts.
The world can really do a whole number on people.
