Keep in mind, and *I am not kidding*, that he claimed that one of these crashes was over Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge regime. He claimed that everyone on his plane except him died, and that all he had with him wqas a machete. He said that he used a machete to hack his way out of the Cambodian jungle, killing several Khmer rouge along the way, and was picked up by a US military rescue plane. I wish I were making this up, but he really said it.
