I miss fish & chips wrapped in newspaper. The Food Standards Agency bullied chippies in the early/mid 90s and now you're not allowed to use it. There's "food grade" faux newspaper some chippies use, but it's not the same. :(

Yea the first couple of trips I did get them as shown in photo - Then a paper box of sorts
If I remember correctly cause that was long ago - Splash of Malt Vinegar added by vendor and I was asked if I wanted that, which of course I said YES

Fries however were SOGGY - The Belgium version of Fries for some reason have alluded UK

You can find a love of fast food in the popularity of automats and street vendors long before there were drive-thru lanes. I wouldn't lay all the blame on automobiles.
