Those are just some of the major chains that have french fries. Once you start adding restaurants that do sandwiches, pizza, Mexican food, and various Asian foods to the list, the numbers get pretty large. (so do the people)

Doing this reply without benefit of wiki - Back in the dark ages B4 Fast food as we no's it.
Drug stores used to have counters for quick food. Basics were Burgers and Shakes and Ice Cream Sodas - There was one Plus back then and that was Fried Chicken because B4 KFC which came up with that Pressure cooker method for Fried Chicken - One could often get home made Fried Chicken at counters and on occasion really GOOD - Alas KFC killed that because counters to compete put the pressure cooker methods in. Cokes and Pepsi were the alternative drinks
None of those places offered beer or wine.
Regional Counters in USA say Southern - Chicken Fried Steak as just one example -

McDonald's: They have the cut right (thin) , but they rarely get the rest correct. Either not cooked until crispy or else over/under-salted.
Wendy's: Medium cut; thin enough that they should be cooked properly, but they usually aren't.
Burger King: Also medium cut, served hot, but not quite crispy.
Chik-fil-A: I've never been here so I can't say.
Sonic: It's been a long time so I don't remember.
Arby's: I may have been as a child, but I don't remember.
Checkers/Rally's: Also haven't been here.
Carl's Jr./Hardee's: It's been a while, but as I remember the fries were thick cut with skin-on and kind of soggy. Great burgers though.
Dairy Queen: Medium cut, and served hot. I think they get cooked in the same oil as the onion rings because they seem slightly breaded. Not perfectly crisp, but a decent effort.
Jack in the Box: It's been decades, so I have no idea.
Whatburger: We don't have one of these.
In-n-Out Burger: We also don't have this.
Five Guys Burger & Fries: Thick cut, unsalted, skin-on fries. Served hot, but they were pretty soggy.
Culver's: Crinkle-cut thick fries. A few years ago they introduced a new recipe that was crispier and had a slightly cheesy flavor, but they seem to have switched back to their old one. Usually soggy.
Steak n Shake: Extra-thin cut, and crisp. The real gold standard.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen: I've only been once and I didn't get fries.
Not mentioned:
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers: Extra-thin cut, mostly crispy, with some extra seasoning.
A&W All-American Food: Medium cut, also seemingly breaded. Pretty good when hot, but blah once cooled.
