that doesn't work if you are trying to move in with roommates who are already living there
and that works until/unless you notify them that you aren't renewing the lease cause then they can (with notice) show the place
by which point it would be too late for them to do anything anyway i guess

I don't think they should have the right to show your place even with notice.
At the VERY LEAST they should pro-rate your rent to account for the day of the showing.

I tried walking him on a leash
he would lie down on his side so I had to drag him
we got to some stairs
at the edge of each step he would stand up, walk down the step, lie down and be dragged for the duration of the next step, and repeat
