"IF" Kim Jong-un meets with Trump and hands over every grain of Plutonium and all the working parts of every Nuke - Then sure Trump wins the prize

I think I No exactly what Kim Jong-un will do and that is to make as much money on the open market for Nukes. He can unload a few real easy for many a Billion bucks

Because the main destabilizing issue on the Korean peninsula isn't the "war", it's the nukes. The war was at this point entirely political theater and had been for decades.

Kim Jong Un is making mostly superficial concessions and going on a PR offensive. There's reason for cautious optimism but we are like 2 weeks into the potential beginning of the end of a 60 year conflict. Nothing agreed to so far is binding in any way. Let's see what it looks like in six months. Long term, as long as NK has nukes no one will feel safe in the region and NK cannot give up nukes without jeopardizing its survival. That's the core dilemma that's been plaguing the region this whole time and nothing substantive on that front has changed yet.

I think Kim is waiting for Trump to decide on Iran treaty - Kim is in need a many mega Billions of $$$'s - Kim can offload several ready to fire A Bombs and maybe even one H Bomb to Iran and at the same time work out a necessary trade deal.

One reason for selling A Bombs to Iran wood be to put Kim wayyyy on Top as a leader of the Planet and make Trump look even more foolish then he already is

It's promising, but is there anyone on the peninsula who thinks that Kim Jong Un wouldn't declare war again/invalidate the peace deal tomorrow if he thought it would benefit him? NK isn't a conventional country in any sense, and while I hope it continues to go well this seems too much like Un taking advantage of a stupid and vain US president than a serious peace process.

well, number one it'll have to happen. if you're wanting people to celebrate a victory, then there needs to be a victory. right now you're expecting people to celebrate the idea of there being a victory maybe? okay... that's great, now let's actually see it happen and then we can start celebrating and attributing credit. do you really think this is a done deal enough that we can start slapping each other on the back and shaking hands like it's already happened?

yes, it's great that we're on a path to peace, it sure beats where we were seeming to be headed just a few months back. but maybe let's see if it happens before we start handing out Nobel prizes for having done so.

There needs to be a multilateral agreement involving China NK SK Japan and US (maybe Russia) that denuclearizes NK in exchange for...something. it's hard to see what that agreement would even look like but until something like that happens it's not really meaningful.

You guys don't even know what the peace prize is for, do you? Listen to Obama.
