Ya all going to be real real good for my wallet. 5G is in the near future for all of ya. IF it were just about speed it wood be REAL SOON - It's now so much more than speed. Issues like Green house gases make this next move far far more complex. Not because 5G increases but because 5G can make a real dent in Green house gases and free up costly real estate.

How fast for first version? FAST REAL FUCKING FAST. Nothing under 1GHZ Downloads. Do I have it currently here in Cardiff by the Sea - Nope do I get it when I get closer to Qualcomm campus Yes indeed. However other cities which are now many have it working in Beta tests and FCC is working overtime in applications for new Spectrum necessary for general use - Outside USA Yep like China and Japan n Germany

I did say
> free up costly real estate.

So base stations are going to end up going by by. Currently they cost a fortune to lease and use massive amounts of power to cool them.
And you r somewhat correct re massive truly massive number of replacements to make the microwave connections work - That said these in beta tests are truly tiny. There are currently 3 levels of service which means some with Wi-Fi and some with Super WI-FI and some with less than Wi-fi

People will bend over backwards to host the new micro base stations at NO Cost to system because it's going to be smaller than your current Wi-fi box at home and except for the laws you wood not even NO U were one of those base stations. Maybe you will be untitled to be called a NODE.

I hope it works out. There are people who claim they can feel the new signal and don't want it in their communities.

These same people complain and they sure do and then proceed to kitchen to microwave some popcorn.
All of them are subject to local police car radios and Millions of Cell phones spewing out RF and those high powered AM and FM and TV stations signals
And the leaky Microwave ovens and all that leakage from Cable systems in hood

It is an RF Jungle out there
