Rick Santorum was talking about how pro-life he is (no abortions ever for any reason), yet he authorised an abortion for his wife in 1997.
They were talking about introducing amendments to the fucking Constitution making sure the homosex can never get married.
They were talking about getting right-wing judges in the courts. Funny, I thought the legal system was meant to be unbiased.
The whole thing was laughable. The only one keeping his foot out of his mouth was Ron Paul, and even he phrased his positions in ways that made him sound conservative.
Ugh, did anyone else watch that ridiculousness?

I did not watch it, but to me, based on your interpretation, it sounds like Ron Paul is the clear winner of the debate. If he managed to not come off an insane, compared to the rest of the republican party, he may end up being chosen as the GOP's candidate.
Being fiscally conservative isn't bad at all, and well, that's how Ron Paul is conservative... he certainly can't be considered socially conservative, since he would do things such as legalize drugs.

On the gay marriage thing, he said it was an individual issue, not some big group thing. He sees it as a personal decision in which the government has no reason to not allow. That's completely the opposite of everyone else in the debate saying they're upholding god's word and how they're going to introduce amendments banning fag unions.
I'd definitely call Ron Paul the winner. I agree with him quite a bit politically, as I'm a libertarian and am thus rather conservative economically and liberal socially. I certainly hope he gets the republican ticket.

The founding father's were big believers in enlightenment era thinking, and came from a variety of religious backgrounds. It's been a veritable melting pot of religious views since the beginning.
